Hand-forged by Dominic “Raven” April, a professional blacksmith and Canadian Armed Forces veteran, this 12'' piece carries far more than craftsmanship—it carries purpose.
Raven is the founder of Atelier du Vieux Corbeau, a working forge that has become a place of connection and healing for veterans. Within the heat, rhythm, and tradition of the forge, veterans find a space to step out of isolation, reconnect with others who understand their journey, and talk—sometimes quietly, sometimes openly—while working steel side by side.
His work is nationally recognized. One of Raven’s creations is permanently displayed at the Juno Beach Centre, a place of remembrance and education dedicated to Canada’s role in the Second World War. In recognition of his unwavering commitment to veterans and their well-being, he has also been awarded the Provincial Medal of Honour, presented in Parliament.
Every piece forged by Raven reflects not only skill and heritage, but service, resilience, and solidarity—steel shaped with meaning, by a veteran, for veterans.
